Global Antimalware Community: ASAP & UNITE
Outside our francophone world, a global community exists that, like us, fights against malware!
In 2003-2004, lots of independent forums were competing gladly and giving a poor picture... at this period, there were serious attacks against HijackThis and SpywareInfo, the forum on which Merijn was developing this tool! sites at the time were named Becky's, TechSupportGuy, Wilders, AumHa, DSL Reports, SpywareInfo, TomCoyote, Net-Integration, SysInfo, etc.
The consequence was a cooperation between forums to stop competition, get armed against DDoS attacks, harmonize procedures, build resources together (training, crossed administrators, mirror sites, etc.) and this led to creation of ASAP - Alliance of Security Analysis Professionals by Robert Glass on March 14, 2004... a page giving links to the necessary explanations ->
!
2 French sites/forums are members of ASAP: Assiste.com and Zebulon.fr.
At the end of 2005, divergences regarding design of acceptable about financing led to dynamic discussions and to a split within ASAP, in March 2006 causing the leave of lots of big boards!
UNITE - Unified Network of Instructors and Trained Eliminators, another organization was created in March 2006, with as an aim to cooperate in training ->
; you'll find there a list of members, a list of teachers, a list of schools (as well as a private board)!
To follow up information, here is a presentation of the organization done by ChrisRLG and Nellie2.
